Mankato, Minn. (September 1, 2026) – Old Main Village, a senior living community managed by The Goodman Group, hosted its sixth annual State Fair celebration on Wednesday, August 26, bringing residents, their families, team members and guests together for a day of nostalgic fun and connection. Inspired by National Senior Citizens Day and the traditions of the Minnesota State Fair, the event celebrated the spirit of community and shared moments across generations.

During the event, attendees enjoyed classic fair foods, carnival games, refreshments, prize drawings, bingo and other fun activities. Special visits from the Blue Ox Jazz Babies and Goofy Goat Farm added to the excitement, along with a themed marketplace spotlighting local businesses and organizations. Guests also had the opportunity to explore a health and wellness expo offering interactive activities, educational resources and free health screenings. VINE Faith in Action, Caring Transitions, Adara Home Health, River Valley Hearing, Synergy Home Care, Realty Executives and more were present during the festivities.

To make the celebration even more meaningful, the event also featured a donation fundraiser for Old Main Village’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s team. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, over $150 was raised to support the cause.

“We are grateful for everyone who joined us at our State Fair celebration this year,” said Meegan Weise, executive director of Old Main Village. “This event was a wonderful testament to the strong bonds within the Mankato area and the simple joy of spending time together. The smiles, laughter and fellowship shared will be cherished for years to come.”
